Hailing from the hills of Carroll County, Maryland, Cody’s passion for adventure was ingrained in him from a young age. His passion for adventure and exploration led to serving in the United States Army Reserves, earning the rank of Sergeant, while completing his Bachelors of Arts in Adventure Education from Messiah College.
Throughout Cody’s various outdoor adventures, he has developed a variety of skills including; scuba, diving, skiing, caving, solo canoeing, white water kayaking, mountain biking, and more. Cody is a self-proclaimed renaissance man of the outdoors. Cody’s favorite outdoor activity is ice climbing, and can often be found in the Catskills of NY throughout the winter months.
Currently, Cody works full-time as the adventure specialist for Yellow Breeches Educational Center. YBEC is a private academic school that uses a highly adventure based curriculum to reach special education students with emotional problems that are at risk of failing in the traditional academic setting.
Cody is a Base Managed Climbing Instructor, certified by the Professional Climbing Instructors Association. He is a Wilderness First Responder through SOLO. He anticipates becoming a Level 2 Kayak Instructor through the American Canoe Association, and is looking to complete his Single Pitch Instructor through the American Mountain Guide Association.
