Wilderness First Aid & CPR/AED
Don was born and raised in his early years in Philadelphia, PA. But after his family moved to a rural area near Boyertown, PA, he discovered his love for the outdoors. He joined the Boyscouts and began a long career of backpacking and hiking.
That passion was fueled by altitude of the Andes Mountains. After backpacking around Villarrica, Chile, Don accepted the challenge to climb Mt. Villarrica, an active volcano in southern Chile! He also summitted Mt. Lonquimay in the spring of 2010 and climbed two thirds of the way up Mt. Lanin (more to that story some other day).
Upon returning to the US, Don simultaneously began rock climbing and peakbagging in the Northeastern US. He has climbed many of the highest peaks of the Adirondaks and Presidentials in the winter. He also has climbed many routes both trad and sport in Seneca, Birdsboro, and the Gunks.
After certifying in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, he now enjoys introducing people to the wonders of outdoor life through Valley to Summit, LLC.
