Amy is master juggler of craft, adventure and active lifestyle. She came to Philadelphia to explore the inner workings of the creative mind, completed a degree in fine art, but found herself all the while equally as inspired by the human relationship to the natural world. She holds the belief that the ability to overcome struggle in order to survive is in its own, an artful process.
Amy currently guides for Valley to Summit, instructs for the Baltimore Chesapeake Bay and Philadelphia Outward Bound schools and works with Hidden River Outfitters. Working with Philadelphia’s outdoor community allows her to live out her passion; to challenge and motivate people to transform themselves and their communities in subtle and powerful ways.
During the off-season Amy lives out her second life as a working artist in New Boon(e) Artist Gallery & Collective, in Old City.
At camp Amy specializes in fire dancing, leftover rice breakfasts and long discussions pertaining to wilderness color theory.
Among her favorite climbing destinations are: Horse Pens 40, Alabama; 11 Mile Canyon – Colorado; Shawangunk Ridge, New York; Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, Arkansas.
