The basic Leave No Trace training is the Awareness Workshop. An Awareness Workshop is any formal Leave No Trace presentation that is one-day or less in length. These presentations can include a wide variety of programs ranging from a 30-minute presentation to a day-long workshop. Valley to Summit encourages experiential-based training, preferably in an outdoor setting. Valley to Summit’s LNT Master Educators and Trainers are equipped with a wide range of teaching tools, including slide show presentations, movie presentations and over 100 hands-on, engaging activities for all ages.
LNT Awareness Workshops are for various ages ranging from elementary school age groups to adults and are designed for car-campers, backcountry campers, day-use hikers, novices to the outdoors, students, educators, children, adults, college students, Girl Scouts, outdoor professionals, Boy Scouts, trail crews, hiking club members and others interested in Leave No Trace skills and ethics.
For LNT Awareness Workshops tailored for youth groups or youth serving organizations, such as schools (elementary through high school), higher education institutions, religious organizations/camps,summer camps, wilderness therapy programs, scout troop or other youth serving organizations, please contact VTS regarding the PEAK (PromotingEnvironmental Awareness in Kids) program for elementary school age groups and the TEEN program for middle and high school age groups.
